About the service

Briarfields provides electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), Clozapine monitoring (a medicine which is used in treating schizophrenia), physical health monitoring and electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring services.

Our services are provided to inpatients and outpatients at Fieldhead in Wakefield and the surrounding areas. We provide a high-quality service which is sensitive to individual needs and subject to continuous quality improvements and evaluation. Treatment is centred around an individual’s personal needs.

Briarfields is a warm, welcoming environment that provides clinical procedures to a high standard. We have also achieved national excellence accreditation from the Electroconvulsive Therapy Accreditation Service (ECTAS).

We offer an effective service which is safe and patient centred at all times. We are sensitive to the cultural, emotional, social and spiritual needs of the individuals accessing our service. This enables our service users to reach their potential and live well in their community.
