Help in your area

If you wish to make a referral into social care you must contact the social care team in your area. Social care details are found below.

Remember if you’re a member of the public and you suspect any danger to a child, you must contact the social services team in your area as soon as possible. If you’re a member of the Trust, you can contact the safeguarding children team.

Barnsley:

Barnsley Social Care

If you suspect a child under the age of 18 who lives in the Barnsley borough is being neglected, mistreated, or abused, you should inform Barnsley Social Care immediately.

Calderdale

Calderdale Social Care

If you are worried or have any concerns about a child living in the Calderdale area please contact the multiagency screening team (MAST) at Calderdale children’s social care. You can make an initial request for service (referral) by a phone call. However, this must be followed up in writing within 48 hours.

The MAST require written request for services to be completed on a form they supply. This is called the early intervention and safeguarding statutory referral form.

Any referrals to the Calderdale social care must be logged on Datix and copy of the referral form forwarded to the named nurse for safeguarding children.

Kirklees

Referral and Response Team – Kirklees Social Care

If you are worried or have any concerns about a child living in the Kirklees area please contact the referral and response team at Kirklees children’s social care. You can make an initial request for service (referral) by a phone call. However, this must be followed up in writing within 48 hours.

Kirklees Council does not currently provide a form to support written referrals to children’s social care. Trust practitioners are advised telephone referrals to social care must be followed up in writing within 48 hours.

Any referrals to the referral and response team must be logged on Datix and a copy of the referral form forwarded to the named nurse for safeguarding children.
