What should I do if while at work I see someone not wearing their mask correctly, ignoring social distancing or ignoring the number of people allowed in a room?
If you feel able to challenge, you should do so. If you do not feel able to challenge, speak to your manager, HR, staff side or a freedom to speak up guardian to help you.
What should we do if the guidance we are getting through managers contradicts the guidance on the Trust intranet?
Check the intranet pages and speak to your line manager as guidance continues to change rapidly. We are trying to keep on top the changes. If in doubt please contact the infection prevention and control team.
I have antibodies. Do I still need to wear a mask?
Yes. There is not enough information known about the effects of antibodies yet and whether these protect from reinfection.

Some people regularly drink water throughout the day, what is best practice for wearing a mask in this instance?
People need to be more disciplined about when to take a break. You do need to change your mask every time you take a break. Masks are not required in Covid-secure areas.
Have there been any developments in the transparent face coverings?
Work is in progress with this nationally. There is a limited supply that will be shared across all NHS Trusts, and our Trust has requested a supply of these.

What can we do about people not being able to hear us properly when we are wearing a mask?
This cannot be mitigated unfortunately at present. However, the Trust will continue to seek solutions.
How long do we have to follow the mask wearing guidance for?
This will be reviewed regularly at national level and in the Trust, but there is no definitive answer to this question at present.

Is wearing masks just for the test and trace set up?
It may have some impact on test and trace but it is not specifically for this.

Should service users be wearing masks too?
Guidance for service users wearing masks has not changed. Visitors and those attending for outpatient appointments are expected to wear a face covering.
