There are testing sites in Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield and there is also the option to use the national testing sites or order a home test via the government’s website.

Testing of locums will be raised as part of the track and trace and only testing if symptomatic.

Is testing compulsory?
Currently only the testing of symptomatic staff is compulsory. If staff are asymptomatic it is not compulsory and some have opted out.
Are there any plans for an antibody test?
There is no plan to do antibody testing; neither does any other organisation have this yet.

Is there a timeframe for the all staff testing initiative?
Testing of symptomatic staff has to be a priority, so timescales for asymptomatic testing will depend on fluctuations in symptomatic cases. We have already begun contacting some staff within the vulnerable category and some asymptomatic testing has begun.

As the test is only really valid on the day it’s done, how frequently will each person need to be tested?
National guidance is expected from the government regarding the frequency of testing.
What are the practicalities of travelling for a test? Is there an alternative?
Staff testing is available at all four localities. Additionally staff can access home tests via the government website and can attend national testing sites.
