Work for us

Our Trust exists to help people reach their potential and live well in their communities. We’re delighted you want to join us.

We’re very proud we were chosen as the ‘best organisation’ in the 2017 Kate Granger awards for compassionate care.

We live our values every day:

• We put the person first and in the centre
• We know that families and carers matter
• We are respectful, honest, open and transparent
• We improve and aim to be outstanding
• We are relevant today and ready for tomorrow

Our values are very important to us which is why we want to recruit people whose values match ours.

Our values shape the way we provide our range of mental health, community and learning disability services to the people of Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield. We also provide some medium secure (forensic) services to the whole of Yorkshire and the Humber and some wellbeing services in other parts of Yorkshire.

We want to provide outstanding physical, mental and social care in a modern health and care system and over 4400 people work as part of our team. Together, we strive to provide care that any one of us, our loved ones, or ourselves, would choose. That’s why our services are run ‘with all of us in mind’.

Our application process will test your attitudes and behaviours, as well as your knowledge and skills so that we know we’d be a good match for each other. If you’re successful you’ll then have a 12 months values based induction.

You’ll also have access to a wide range of wellbeing support because our wellbeing at work matters to #allofus. There’s a great range of support for us all including a workplace physio, staff retreats, health checks, counselling, mindfulness and a variety of sports groups. You can take part in our award-winning Creative Minds activities as well as access courses at our innovative recovery colleges.

We know there’s a wealth of talent among people who have a disability as well as those who have experience of mental or physical health problems. So, if you need any support with your application just give us a call on 01226 644071.

A couple of things to note – if you’re shortlisted for an interview we’ll contact you via your NHS Jobs account, so please check this regularly. Please provide email addresses wherever possible for your references. Bear in mind that we reserve the right to close a vacancy before the advertised closing date if necessary, so please apply as soon as you can.

We hope you would like to join our award-winning team. Good luck with your application.
