What we do?
Our therapists support children and young people who have:
- Delay in their fine and gross motor development. This might be because of a specific condition such as cerebral palsy, neuromuscular condition.
- Complex special needs.
- Coordination difficulties.
- Pain or a musculoskeletal problem.
- Sensory needs.
Physiotherapists
Our physiotherapists work with children and young people with physical difficulties in clinics, schools, nurseries and at home. We do this by providing:
- Intervention and/or advice to promote gross motor skills and co-ordination.
- Intervention and/or advice for physical difficulties (eg weak muscles, painful joints, postural problems).
- Assessment and advice for specialist equipment for standing and walking.
Occupational Therapists
Our occupational therapists work with children and young people who have difficulties with their practical skills needed for their everyday life. They aim to enable the child or young person to be as independent as possible. Our occupational therapists see children and young people in in clinics, schools, nurseries and at home. We do this by providing:
- Intervention and/or advice to promote fine motor skills and coordination.
- Intervention and/or advice to promote visual perceptual skills.
- Intervention and/or advice to promote self care skills.
- Intervention and/or advice to support sensory needs.
- Assessment and advice regarding equipment and adaptations to aid activities of daily living.
