What’s it all about?
Led by Spectrum People, a bike workshop opened June 2015, this is about providing a supportive activity for vulnerable adults. This has developed into a larger scheme – Re-Cycle – providing bike repairs on a commercial basis (in Castleford centre) to generate a small income stream along with developing employability skills for the volunteers supporting the workshop.
The scheme builds the self-confidence, skills, experience and knowledge of those attending.
When and where?
Sessions take place Tuesday or Thursday (10am-2pm) at Reflections House, Station Road, Castleford WF10 1DL.
Referrals or self-referrals are needed in advance. Over 6 sessions individuals learn basic bike repair skills followed by 4 additional sessions building a bike they can potentially own.
