The Dales creative art project will work with people on the Elmdale Ward in Calderdale, a 24 bed unit for adults who are experiencing mental distress.
The project will work with service users to create pieces of art which will be displayed around the ward, creating a positive and welcoming environment. The art sessions will aim to explore the patient’s personal stories, sending a positive message to those on or visiting the ward.
The sessions, run by Kawa Creative, will offer a variety of activities including printing, photography, poetry, collage and multi-media. The project will work alongside the occupational therapy department to ensure the sessions are adapted to suit the different needs and preferences of those taking part.
