A project to create and develop a service user led Youth Theatre Company. The company is for young people from 14-18 and will take the form of weekly drama sessions that run throughout the year and culminate in a performance around Christmas 2012.
Ten weekly structured drama workshop sessions would be facilitated by Yew Tree Youth Theatre in order to build the confidence and drama skills of the group. Sessions will then begin to focus on the development of a performance; this will, however, form only part of the overall plan. This piece of theatre would be led by participants under the guidance and direction of Yew Tree Youth Theatre and culminate in a public performance. There will be a total of 30 sessions throughout the year.
An important aspect of the approach to the project will be to continually reflect and respond to the needs and feedback of the participants and the group in an action research approach, ensuring that the project is as effective as possible.
