Discover with us and explore the history of mental health care and the stories that make our shared heritage truly meaningful.

The Mental Health Museum houses a remarkable collection of mental health-related objects that span the history of mental health care from the early 19th century through to the present day. We also have vibrant outreach displays in changing locations and an exciting learning programme.

“Through coproduction with our communities, we aim to create opportunities for people to challenge their beliefs and perspectives.”

Our Manifesto is incredibly important to us. We developed our manifesto together with people who access mental health services, carers, friends and family, staff and our visitors. It is more than a document; it is a mission and we want you to join us in achieving it.

Please explore our website and join us on social media for more information about the museum and the work that we do.

The Mental Health Museum is an Affiliate of the Happy Museum Project and we proudly support #hellomynameis.
