Connecting with nature and people: Trust Porter Phil Bates shares his poem inspired by his role
It’s always nice to hear about working for our Trust, and the various roles we have, can inspire creativity in our colleagues. Trust Porter Phil Bates shared a lovely poem inspired whilst carrying out his daily duties and connecting with various colleagues from the sites he visits.

Phil said; “I have been working for the Trust for almost five years. I love what I do, having the opportunity to visit our various sites, meet various teams and interact with different colleagues and people every day. I live by the motto ‘smile, be kind and be happy’ and I approach each conversation and interaction I have with just that behaviour.
“I love to read, fascinated by poetry and have been writing poem for years. What you see when you’re driving through the countryside, visiting the Trust sites and our grounds and connecting with people and nature, it stays with you and inspires you.
“I just wanted to share a bit about my passion, to make people happy, support their wellbeing and connect, just like my role.”
Thank you Phil, for sharing your poem and highlighting the importance and value of supporting each other to be the best we can be.
