We are proudly recognised as a Teaching Trust

The University of Leeds approved our application based on our strong history of partnership working around student education and research and development.

Over the past two years we have been working closely with the University of Leeds to formalise our partnership, building on our existing Associated Teaching Trust agreement.

We formally launched our new name, South West Yorkshire Partnership Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, at our 2025 annual members’ meeting held on 17 September.

The partnership is one of very few nationally where Teaching Trust status has been achieved by a Trust that provides community services alongside mental health, learning disability, and autism services.

Trust chair Marie Burnham said:

“This is a proud moment for our Trust and is significant in our development. We are excited to continue our journey together with University of Leeds to further create innovative opportunities in teaching, learning, and research, and to embed evidence-based practice.”

Chief executive Mark Brooks said:

“In our Trust we have a strong focus on learning and improvement, and this partnership with the University of Leeds will further advance our education, training and learning opportunities for all our staff and students.”
