Trust thanks long serving NHS staff in Calderdale

Date:

With 181 years of NHS service between them, staff from the South West Yorkshire Mental Health Trust in Calderdale were congratulated at a special event.

Their hard work and dedication was recognised at a special event on Ward 10, St Luke’s hospital, Huddersfield on the 18th November, where they will receive certificates and gift vouchers.

Among the Calderdale staff who will be receiving their awards is consultant psychologist Tim Lister who has worked for the NHS for 30 years.

Tim said, "It seems only yesterday that I was taking up my first post in North Tyneside. It seems like the last 10 years have been a rollercoaster of changes, some excellent, others more difficult to make sense of. It is important to remain optimistic and not to succomb to change fatigue. I have always enjoyed the varied nature of my job as a psychologist, particularly working with clients – that has been a real privilege. I am looking forward to the next 10 year!" Tim continued.

Trust Chairman Sukhdev Sharma who will be presenting the awards said, "I am very proud of the dedication and commitment of all these staff. Their hard work helps our Trust provide the highest quality of care for people with mental health problems and learning disabilities. I am very privileged to meet and personally thank all these members of staff for their years of long service, to both our Trust and the NHS," says Sukhdev.
