Bob and Bev share their unique love story
A pair of newly-weds celebrated their new found fame when they were presented with copies of the South West Yorkshire Mental Health NHS Trust’s annual report.
Bob and Bev Sharpe, who got married in August 2005 after meeting at a Trust service, feature on the front cover of the annual report and the story of how they found love is included inside.
The report called ‘Our Year’ has been produced as a magazine and has been distributed to all GP surgeries in Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield, as well as to partners such as social services and voluntary organisations.
The Trust is legally obliged to produce an annual report which includes statutory information such as the Trust’s financial activities, management costs, performance targets and progress on waiting times. The report also aims to celebrate the many and varied skills and achievements of people who use mental health and learning disabilities services.
The annual report, ‘Our Year’, will be officially launched at the Trust’s annual general meeting (AGM) which is taking place on 21st September, 5.30pm at the Education Centre, Fieldhead, Ouchthorpe Lane, Wakefield.
The AGM will include presentations from Board members, looking at the Trust’s past performance as well as the year ahead. There will also be a thought-provoking play performed by the Whole in the Head theatre group. ‘Katy’s story’ gives an insight into the experiences of someone with a mental health problem and it has been devised and will be performed by people who have experience of mental health problems.
Trust Chairman, Sukhdev Sharma says, ‘The AGM is an excellent opportunity for members of the public to come along and find out how their local NHS Trust is performing and what our future plans are. One in four people experience a mental health problem in the course of a year so lots of us, our relatives and friends may need to use Trust services. The AGM gives people a chance to see how we work hard to provide the sort of services we would want for ourselves and for our loved ones.’
