New nursing director for local mental health NHS Trust
South West Yorkshire Mental Health Trust has appointed a new Director of Nursing Innovation and Compliance. The appointment of Noreen Young was announced today by Trust chief executive Steven Michael.
Noreen Young – who has worked in the NHS for over 30 years – is currently Director of Nursing at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust. Noreen trained as a nurse in West Yorkshire and has worked in a variety of nursing and management roles regionally and nationally since then.
She has been the Director of Nursing at Leicestershire Partnerships NHS Trust for the last five years. For the past year, Noreen has also been a visiting Professor in the nursing and midwifery department at De Montfort University, Leicester.
Speaking about her appointment, Noreen said, "I am absolutely delighted to have been offered the job and I’m looking forward to returning to West Yorkshire. This is a really exciting time for me to join South West Yorkshire Mental Health Trust as they progress towards becoming a foundation trust – offering local people a real chance to have their say on their local NHS. I’m looking forward to bringing my nursing and management skills to the Trust and meeting staff, people who use services and their carers."
