Free health checks for over 50s in Castleford

People over 50 are invited to go along to Castleford indoor market on Friday 19 August to have free health checks courtesy of South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s health and wellbeing service.

A team of health and wellbeing development workers from the Trust’s Wakefield service will be offering free blood pressure, weight and BMI checks at the market on Carlton Street from 9am to 1pm.

Laura Quinn, health and wellbeing development worker, said: "We encourage all Wakefield residents to look after their health and wellbeing and this is a great opportunity for those over 50 to get some important health checks for free."

The Wakefield health and wellbeing service consists of a range of distinct services – all aimed at working with local people to help them improve and maintain their wellbeing. Services include the health and wellbeing development workers, community food and health team, health trainers, public health education, safe@home team, and the self management service.
