Gain an insight into children’s mental health services

Date:

Local people are invited to attend a free educational talk that will give a professional insight into Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which provides community, mental health and learning disability services in Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield, is holding a series of events as part of their successful ‘Insight into’ talks.

The next talk is being held in Kirklees on Tuesday 28 October and will offer insight to anyone who wants to know a bit more about children and adolescent mental health services. Anyone is welcome to attend including members of the public, carers, university students and NHS staff.

Dr Cheyvonne Ogunde, consultant child psychiatrist, who is hosting two of the insight events said: “We are really looking forward to seeing lots of people at the events and giving people a real insight into CAMHS. It’s a great opportunity for people to find out more and ask any questions they have. I would encourage anyone who is interested to come along and get involved in the discussions.”

The talk is being held at the Al-Hikmah Centre in Batley and will run from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Guests are asked to arrive 30 minutes before the start of each talk for refreshments and registration.

To book a place at the session, call 01924 328656 or email inclusion@swyt.nhs.uk. Please note that the talks are educational and will not discuss individual cases or circumstances.
