Yorkshire Smokefree advisor celebrates outstanding study results
A healthy lifestyle advisor with our Yorkshire Smokefree service has become one of the first students to complete the Business Administration standard at Wakefield College.
Nicola Hartley, who works in Barnsley, was awarded a Distinction in all three assessed areas of her two year course.
In order to pass the course, Nicola had to complete a live project and presentation, showcase a portfolio demonstrating her knowledge, skills and behaviours, and carry out a one hour knowledge and understanding exam.
Nicola achieved a Distinction by showing a high degree of expertise, an ability to reflect on her own learning, and sharing best practice with others.
Nicola said: “‘I am absolutely over the moon with my results. A lot of hard work went into the qualification over the last two years and it has really given me something to celebrate during the current situation. The skills I have gained through the qualification are really going to help me within my job role and hopefully help me to progress within the organisation.
“I also couldn’t have done it without the support of my colleagues within Yorkshire Smokefree Barnsley, they are a truly great work family.”
Barnsley community services manager Denise Donnelly added: “I am absolutely delighted for Nicola. In the two years she has been studying, her hard work and dedication to the course, her caseload and to the Yorkshire Smokefree Barnsley service has been exceptional. She is a fabulous role model and a credit not only to our service but to the organisation as a whole.”
