Cardiac/pulmonary rehab continues via video, phone & app

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak the Trust’s cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation service has had to temporarily suspend the group exercise/education programmes that it usually delivers across Barnsley.

During the lockdown period the service has continued to support individuals diagnosed with cardiac and respiratory conditions through the use of remote consultation methods such as contacting service users via telephone and even delivering exercise programmes through video consultation.

The service has also been able to offer individuals access to the NHS approved MyCOPD app that provides support and guidance to those living with a respiratory condition to enable them to self-manage their condition.

The service hopes to recommence delivering its group exercise /education programmes shortly from across four venues in Barnsley including Hoyland, Penistone, Royston and Thurnscoe.
