Making our pledge for Nutrition & Hydration Week 2025

This week the Trust marked Nutrition & Hydration Week, focusing on nutrition and hydration as an important part of quality and safety in health and social care. With this year’s theme ‘Reinforce, Focus and Energise’ the purpose of the week is to bring people together to create energy, focus and fun to highlight and educate on the value of food and drink in maintaining health and wellbeing in health and social care.

Our dietetics service were actively promoting messages and tips to stay hydrated, reminding colleagues, services users and partners to stay hydrated by taking a drink to meetings, visits or sessions with their Nutrition & Hydration Week poster. The service also encouraged teams across the Trust to show their support by ‘making a pledge‘.
“Nutrition and Hydration Week is an important time of the year for us as dietitians, to focus on promoting the importance of nutrition and hydration for everyone (colleagues, patients, families, carers). We’re trying to spread the word in the Trust that everyone can all play a part in providing good nutritional care – from procurement, housekeeping staff, estates and facilities, to other AHP colleagues, nurses and beyond! Thinking about everything from nutritional screening, care planning to the food and drinks our patients are provided with, we can all play our part and make a difference.
“It was great to see such positivity from teams across our Trust to actively get involved and show their support. We had a huge selection of pledges, with more coming every day!”
