Image of Glory, support worker at the Trust. My name is Glory. I am a biomedical scientist but currently working as a support worker. I applied as a volunteer because I wanted to gain valuable experience in a medical laboratory. When I was offered the role of a customer service volunteer, I decided it would be interesting to have a go at something different, since it involved offering support to people in need of it. I have since enjoyed every bit of my time spent in this role and I look forward to one day making a career out of it.

I am quite new, though I don’t feel that way. I have only volunteered for 2 months but have put in a lot of hours. Additionally, I work with a wonderful set of people who always make me feel like I have been part of the team for ages.

I have always wanted to contribute to the healthcare sector through the NHS. Volunteering gives me the opportunity to not only gain valuable experience, but give back to the society

I currently volunteer with customer service administration. We deal with proper handling of complaints and customer satisfaction. I like that I work with a wonderful team who prioritise patient satisfaction. I hope to build my confidence; gain valuable knowledge and experience in dealing with customers.

A friend recommended this Trust to me, and I have also been doing the same to other friends and family members. You gain lots of experience and access to internal vacancies. I intend to explore other roles within the Trust following my positive volunteering experience.
