About the service

We are a small physiotherapy team who provide services to inpatient units in Kirklees and undertake domiciliary (home) visits in South Kirklees, including care homes.

Domiciliary visits in North Kirklees are undertaken by Locala who can be contacted on 01924 351544.

Conditions we frequently treat are:

  • Neurological (people who have suffered damage to the brain)
  • Mobility issues
  • Falls
  • Musculoskeletal (muscles, tendons, bones, joints, nerves, ligaments and cartilage)
  • Trauma

The physiotherapist will work with other members of mental health staff to treat or advise upon the presenting physical problem.

Some service users have a short course of physiotherapy for a short-term injury such as a limb fracture. Others have more long-term care focusing on maintenance or long-term rehabilitation – such as following a head injury.

Why would someone choose the service?

The physiotherapists are experienced in general physiotherapy and have specialised training and qualifications in treating people who have mental health conditions such as dementia, psychosis or anxieties.
