We have 17 different makes of Type IIR Masks within our stocks so it is anticipated that it will be possible to resolve the irritation issue by offering alternatives.
In the first instance, a referral to occupational health would be required to do a full assessment. They will give advice and alternatives can be considered. A visor can be used if necessary in place of a face mask, but not to replace PPE requirements. The line manager would need to update the risk assessment in the workplace.
Refer to occupational health for a full assessment. Staff are encouraged to take regular breaks and drinks.
Staff should only exercise with service users if this is done outside and social distancing can be maintained. If guidance on the use of gyms and sports halls changes, we will review our guidance.
Visors will need cleaning with So-chlor each time they are removed. This will be when leaving the work environment and when taking a break.
Yes, whenever you are in clinical inpatient areas unless you are working alone in an office on a ward or you are visiting the toilet. In community clinical locations and where an estates led risk assessment has deemed it a Covid-secure environment, face masks may not be required following a local individual risk assessment dependent on the behaviours of the service user that you are consulting with where social distancing can be maintained.
No, masks must now been worn unless they are alone in the office.
Estates will prioritise areas and will eventually risk assess all buildings. However, not all buildings will meet the requirements to become Covid-secure. Inpatient locations will not be classified as Covid-secure.
Complete a risk assessment and social distance. Where it is deemed appropriate following the risk assessment, a mask may not be required.
