Interviews which are essential and still taking place should be conducted via alternatives to face to face meetings e.g. Skype, WhatsApp video, FaceTime or telephone.
Where recruiting managers do not feel it is suitable to assess someone’s suitability via these means, they should contact the recruitment team for up to date advice.
If you would like the post to be suspended you can email the recruitment team on RecruitmentBarnsley@swyt.nhs.uk with the job reference number and the message you wish to send the candidates. The recruitment team will then send an update to them via NHS Jobs.
Pre-employment checks are being completed online until further notice. Candidates should be asked to either scan their ID and the recruitment documents via email or take photos of them on their phone and email them to recruitment3@swyt.nhs.uk to process.

If the member of staff has been recruited through the Trust’s regular recruitment process and is not being recruited as a direct link to the coronavirus pandemic, normal Trust processes will apply and a DBS check must be in place before they start (unless they hold a DBS certificate at the right level and are subscribed to the update service).
Yes, provided their DBS check is at the right level. You must ask your new starter to take a photograph of their certificate so that the recruitment team can check the status of their subscription online.
No, these checks will be completed by the relevant recruitment team on your behalf as part of the fast track emergency recruitment processes.
If the individual has had a DBS in the last 3 years (and is at the right level e.g. enhanced with relevant barring list checks) then we will assess the suitability of the individual based on this information and ensure relevant risk assessments are in place. This is in line with both Government and CQC guidance in order to aid fast track appointments.
Yes, you can ask them to stay at the Trust if they are leaving but they have no obligation to stay.
The individual will need to discuss this with their new employer before they agree. If they decide to stay please inform payroll immediately
If the employee is moving within the Trust, deputy directors will agree which service has the most critical need for that staff member at this time.
The Trust is encouraging bank workers to book shifts in advance where possible.
Should you have to isolate you will be paid your normal full pay including enhancements for any shifts that you have already pre-booked with the Trust.
