Coronavirus
All non-essential non mandatory training and study leave should be cancelled. It is likely that external providers will cancel such events.
You should therefore attend work on days you would have had study leave.
If you have not yet started the Care Certificate, please wait for a member of the Care Certificate team to contact you regarding this. If you have already started, please complete the written work that has been provided.
The Care Certificate team is not currently undertaking practice observations until the current Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
If you are waiting for an assessment, one of the team will be in touch to arrange this once restrictions are lifted. In this situation your completion date will be extended as the current situation is an extenuating circumstance.
You may still arrange for a registered member of staff, or the Care Certificate assessor you work alongside, to provide observations of practice. If they are agreeable, these should then be forwarded to the Care Certificate team.

All non-essential non-mandatory training including apprenticeships have been put on hold by the Trust. This means that you won’t be attending your college training provider and your tutor/assessor won’t be visiting you at work or conducting remote visits.
You will be put on a Break in Learning by your training provider/college.

During this time staff may volunteer to work through breaks and undertake more shifts than they would normally do. It is important that staff take appropriate rest periods for their own wellbeing.
While staff can opt out of some parts of the working time directive during this emergency it is important that managers ensure staff have appropriate days off and breaks to safeguard their health and wellbeing.
Yes. You still need rest breaks during this difficult time to maintain your own physical and mental wellbeing.
You should book leave in line with the new process.
