Festival fun at Lodgefest 2013!

Date:

Following a summer of festivals, September marked the return of the third annual Lodgefest, a celebration event offering a host of activities for service users.

The day-long event kicked off in the morning with an inter-ward football tournament and zumba sessions for those who wanted to have a go at a musical workout. The afternoon’s events included music and funfair themed stalls where patients were invited to try their hand at hook a duck, bat the rat and tombola.

Trevor Jones, senior clinical practitioner at Newton Lodge, has helped to organise Lodgefest for the past three years and said, “We’re really pleased to have held our third Lodgefest event. They’re a great way of encouraging patients to have fun and socialise with people from other wards. The football tournament in the morning also helps to break down barriers between staff and patients as everyone is invited to get involved.

“The patients really look forward to the events and work on ideas and activities for the stalls beforehand. We’re already looking forward to Lodgefest 2014!”
