Health trainers invite local people to healthy lifestyle event

Date:

Health trainers from South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are inviting people to the Oasis Café, Exchange Street, South Elmsall, WF9 2RD on Tuesday 17th September 2013 – 9.30am to 2.30pm to find out how they can boost their health and wellbeing.

During the event there will be an opportunity to talk to support agencies and visit information stalls for teams including the community food and health team, Wakefield Alcohol Team and Diabetes UK. The health trainers will also be on hand to carry out free NHS health checks.

Health trainers offer support, motivation and encouragement to anyone who would like to make healthy changes to their lifestyle. They work with people on a one-to-one basis and can help with a variety of issues including weight management, healthy eating, stress, stopping smoking, physical activity and alcohol. They help individuals to set realistic personal goals and find other services that may benefit and help them to maintain changes they‘ve made so far.

Terry Moran, senior health trainer, said: “We have a great number of health and wellbeing resources available in South Elmsall. We’d like to invite anybody who lives in the area to come along to this event to find out more.”
