Local people invited to find out the next steps for community health services in Barnsley

Date:

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which provides a range of community, wellbeing, mental health and learning disability services in Barnsley, is inviting local people to an event to find out more about the next steps for health services in the borough.

The event will take place on Friday 28 November, 9.30am – 1.00pm at Barnsley Civic, Hanson Street, Barnsley S70 2HZ. Lunch will be provided.

The ‘Next Steps’ event follows public engagement events last year which encouraged local people to give their views; helping to influence the way services are delivered.

People who access services, their carers, staff, local people and partner organisations are invited to the event to hear what the Trust is doing as a result of feedback given, and to help the organisation plan the next steps.

Steven Michael OBE, chief executive at the Trust said, “We’ve been reviewing the way we provide services and comparing this against the evidence of best practice. We want to make sure that local people get the best possible outcome when they use our services and always have the opportunity to influence how services develop.

“We want to enable people to live well in their communities and this event is a chance to hear what we are doing as a result of what people told us was important, and to help us plan our next steps. I very much hope Barnsley people can take up this opportunity to find out more.”
