Changes to referring into child and adolescent mental health services in Wakefield

Date:

Child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) in Wakefield have made changes to how people can get support from the service – also known as making a referral.

These changes now mean that parents and carers of children and young people, alongside young people aged 16 and 17, can refer directly into the Wakefield CAMHS team for advice and support.

Previously, referrals into the service were accepted from professionals within the statutory and community sector only. This included; health professional, teachers, social workers, youth and community workers.
