Kirklees memory service accredited for quality care

Date:

Kirklees memory service is celebrating receiving national accreditation for its high standard of care.

The service was accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Memory Services National Accreditation Programme (MSNAP), which works with teams to assure and improve the quality of memory services.

Achieving the accreditation is a way for memory services to demonstrate that they are working to an identified set of national standards and shows that staff are committed to improving care.
The team will be accredited for three years.

Dr Subha Thiyagesh, medical director at the Trust, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the memory services team, especially at such a challenging time for the NHS and our services. Receiving the accreditation means that local people with memory conditions and their families can be assured of the quality of care they will receive from the team. They set a great example of good practice and are well deserving of this recognition.”
