In a recent Patient-Led Assessment of the Care Environment (PLACE), the Trust was one of only three mental health trusts to score 100% for cleanliness.

The Trust’s level of cleanliness was also rated within the top 20 of all organisations.

In the food assessment, all Trust areas scored higher than the national average (90.9%), achieving between 93.72% and 98.88%.

We also scored above national average (95.9%) for condition, appearance and maintenance, with all areas scoring above 99% and three areas achieving 100%.

PLACE assessments are an annual review of the non-clinical aspects of patient environments, cleanliness, food, condition and appearance and how these support patients’ privacy, dignity, and specific needs.

They are undertaken by teams made up of staff and members of the public, known as patient assessors.

Deputy director of estates and facilities Nick Phillips said: “The scores reflect the commitment and hard work of staff in ensuring that the needs of our service users are met. To be one of only three organisations to score 100% for cleanliness is excellent.

“We’re proud to provide safe, clean and welcoming environments for people so that all aspects of their care are the best they can be.”
