Annual ‘On Yer Bike’ challenge raises over £3600 for EyUp! charity

Photo of cyclists who joined our On Yer Bike fundraiser.On Sunday 17 May, more than 40 cyclists took part in an incredible 38 mile bike ride to raise money for our Trust charity, EyUp!

Members of the Trust board, the Stainborough, Normanton and Barnsley Rotary Clubs, and staff took part in the ride, which started at Kendray Hospital in Barnsley, followed a route to Cheswold Park in Doncaster. After a short lunch and refreshment break provided by the Cheswold Park catering team alongside donations from the Wakefield Street Kitchen, riders made their way to the finish line.

On the return to Kendray Hospital, rotary district governor, Anne Sutcliffe, presented riders with their medal and certificate to congratulate and thank everyone who took part.

Dawn Lawson, deputy chief executive and executive director of strategy, inclusion and change shared “It’s inspiring to be involved in such a fantastic event and see people come together to support our Trust charity, EyUp!.

“Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to all who donated and helped organise such a brilliant day. A special thank you goes to the Normanton Rotary Club for their incredibly generous £500 donation.

“The generosity and commitment shown by everyone involved will make a meaningful difference to our community, mental health, wellbeing and learning disability services.”
