EyUp! Trust staff raise over £5000 tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks
On Saturday 30 August, two teams from South West Yorkshire Partnership Teaching NHS Foundation Trust laced up their books and took on the challenging Yorkshire Three Peaks, raising over £5000 for our Trust charity, EyUp!.
The 24 mile trek across Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough saw staff from the Trust Board, the enhanced intervention in psychosis (EIP) team, older people’s service (OPS), and Calderdale enhanced team come together and brave the rugged terrain, steep climbs and weather for a cause close to their hearts.
Dawn Lawson, deputy chief executive and executive director of strategy, inclusion and change commented “It was inspiring to come together as a team and raise money for a fantastic charity that’s making a real difference to the lives of our service users and local communities.
Although it was challenging at times, it was a great achievement and something we’re all proud of.”
For the EIP team, the challenge was a heartfelt tribute to their late manager, Tom. The funds raised will go towards their music group, which is a creative space that brings joy and connection to their service users.
Kirsty Dowling, community mental health practitioner, Calderdale insight team said “Climbing the Three Peaks was our way of honouring Tom and challenging ourselves. The music group brings real joy to our service users, and we’re delighted that we can keep it going”.
This challenge wasn’t just about completing the route, it was about working together as a team and going the extra mile for our service users and communities.
