Dementia Friendly Lindley event proves popular
Our Trust worked with the Kirklees Dementia Action Alliance to support a day of activity to raise awareness of dementia and Alzheimer’s in Lindley, Huddersfield. The day was a great success with many people turning out for the activities and events.
The Admiral Nurses delivered a session on dementia to Lindley Junior School during their school assembly and Dr Thiyagesh, consultant in the older people’s service, held a coffee morning for the school children and their parents to talk about dementia. The Admiral Nurses have been asked if they will return and do a session to the Year 6’s as part of their enhanced curriculum.
Staff from Kirklees also held a drop in session for memory questions, hosted information stalls and Dr Thiyagesh held a masterclass in the board room at HRI.
