Friends and Family Test
The Friends and Family Test is a way for people who use Trust services to give their feedback on the care and treatment they receive. This will help us to improve services for all and support patient choice.
At some point during your care or treatment you will be asked to complete the Friends and Family Test survey. It asks if you would recommend the services you have received and offers a range of responses. The Friends and Family Test is a tool aims to highlight both good and poor patient experience and how this can be improved. Collecting feedback is vital in transforming NHS services and supporting patient choice.
If you’d like to give us your feedback, you can pick up a questionnaire from where you are accessing services and complete this at any time. If you’d like more help or information about the Friends and Family Test, please ask a member of staff.
What will I be asked?
The Friends and Family Test survey will ask for your feedback on the following questions:
How likely are you to recommend our services to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?
- Extremely likely
- Neither likely or unlikely
- Extremely unlikely
- Don’t know
You will also be asked to tell us ‘What was good about your experience?’ and ‘What would have made your experience better?’
It is important that you complete the survey honestly and tell us what we have done well so we can share this but also what could have been better. This will help us to improve services for the future. All feedback is anonymous so please do not include your name anywhere on the questionnaire.
How will we act on feedback?
Every team within the Trust can access to their responses at any time. Our teams will review all feedback on a monthly basis and will use this to develop plans and take any necessary action. In addition, the results will appear on NHS Choices and the NHS England websites:
How do I complete a survey?
Giving your feedback is really important to us as it helps to improve services for you and for other services. If you’d like to give us your views, simply ask a member of staff working in the service where you’re receiving support and they will be able to help. You’ll be given a card to tell us about your experience.
