Local Trust calling on staff to nominate a nurse for the Nursing Times Hall of Fame

Staff at the South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are being asked to nominate extraordinary nurses to be inducted into the Nursing Times Hall of Fame.

The Nursing Times publication is looking to recognise the many exceptional nurses who are helping to transform the profession and the Trust is encouraging staff to show their support and nominate a nurse they believe deserves the seal of approval.

George Smith, assistant director of nursing education, leadership and development at the Trust, said: "It would be great for staff to support this campaign and nominate nurses that live up to the Trust’s mission of enabling people with mental health problems and learning disabilities to live life to the full. As well as being a great personal achievement, it is a good opportunity for our dedicated staff to get some national coverage and remind people of the important work we do in mental health and learning disability services."

Last year Nursing Times celebrated the 60th anniversary of the NHS by asking readers and users of nursingtimes.net to nominate the Nursing Times Diamond 20 – nurses who have had greatest influence on the profession over the previous 60 years.

Now, it wants people to nominate outstanding nurses who have provided leadership to the profession over the past 5-10 years.

Trust staff, who provide mental health and learning disability care to the people of Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield, are invited to nominate a nurse from a range of categories.
