Date:

Staff at the South West Yorkshire Mental Health NHS Trust, have been out and about in Wakefield and Huddersfield informing the public of job vacancies and career opportunities within the Trust and the NHS.

Events were held on Friday 19th September in the Kingsgate Centre Huddersfield and in the Ridings, Wakefield on Saturday 20th September. The events gave qualified and unqualified members of staff the opportunity to communicate directly with the public; to promote the diverse career opportunities that exist within the Trust, to inform the public about what certain positions entail and to raise the profile of the work of the South West Yorkshire Mental Health NHS Trust amongst the community in which it serves.

Sandy Nicholas, HR team leader said, ‘We were ever so pleased with the outcome of these events, many different people attended for a variety of reasons. We spoke to people actively seeking employment, people wanting to return to the NHS and even people wanting a complete career change. We were also able to provide members of the public with information about training, benefits and child-care. Overall the feed back we received was extremely positive and we were all incredibly pleased with the way we were received in the community.’
