New non executive directors for the Trust

Date:

The Members’ Council has appointed two new non-executive directors to the Trust, both of which have brought an abundance of skills and experience to help shape the future of our organisation.

The Council made the decision to formally appoint Huddersfield man, Peter Aspinall, during their inaugural meeting after the Trust was officially authorised as a Foundation Trust on 1st May. Peter is a business management executive who has worked locally as a finance director in the carpet industry and has good connections in the community.

Helen Wollaston joined the Trust shortly after Peter, bringing with her over 20 years experience delivering equality and social change projects in the public and voluntary sectors, including seven years as Director of Campaigns for the Equal Opportunities Commission. Helen runs a consultancy which provides professional communications support to increase the impact of equality and diversity projects and is also chair of the YWCA England and Wales, a charity working with young women.

Trust chair and leader of the Members’ Council Joyce Catterick said, "We’re delighted to have Peter and Helen formally on board, and both are excellent ambassadors for the people we serve locally. They are already making a valuable contribution and I have no doubt they will continue to do so in the future."
