Prestigious appointment for Trust staff member

Date:

Paula Phillips, clinical nurse specialist and service manager for the Trust’s Forensic Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Wakefield, has been appointed as a visiting fellow at the University of Huddersfield.

Receiving the distinguished visiting fellow post means that Paula will work with other professionals at the university to support research into young people and their mental health. The role will begin in August 2014 and will last for a three year term.

The Wakefield forensic CAMHS service provides mental health support to young people who display serious offending behaviour, are in contact with the criminal justice system or detained in a secure setting.

Paula said, “I’m thrilled to have been appointed as a visiting fellow at the University of Huddersfield. The appointment is a great opportunity to work in partnership with others to conduct meaningful research that ultimately benefits people who are accessing services.”

Paula’s appointment is the latest in a string of successes after recently being notified that she has been shortlisted in this year’s prestigious Nursing Times Awards. Paula was shortlisted in two categories – Nurse of the Year and Nurse Leader of the Year.
