We recognise our volunteers at special event

Date:

As part of national Volunteers’ Week celebrations, we held a special 1940s tea party themed event to say thank you to our valued volunteers.

Held at the Elizabethan Gallery in Wakefield, volunteers were invited by our volunteering services and Wakefield and Five Towns recovery college to enjoy sandwiches and cakes, a vintage performance from a musical duo, a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses, and awards for some of our most outstanding volunteers.

Volunteer Daz Dooler was awarded a special commendation for gaining employment and joining the Trust’s members’ council despite experiencing his own health issues. He said: “Putting on such a special event genuinely meant the world to the volunteers who attended. They expressed to me their pride at being recognised for what they do and really felt that they are part of something special.”
