Come along to the ‘Love your neighbour’ mental health awareness seminar and workshop

The Sikh Alliance Yorkshire will hold their first event on the 29 June to explore and discuss mental health with a primary focus on Sikh communities in Yorkshire.

They are keen to explore and learn how to support people and would like your help. There are several opportunities to get involved such as running an information stall at the event to talking about volunteering opportunities within the Trust.

The event will take place from 6-9pm at Khalsa Science Academy in Leeds. The evening will include:

  • Networking session to learn and discuss mental health issues with professionals and organisations within this area of work from 6-7pm
  • The former chair of Leeds & York Health Partnership Frank Griffiths, Touchstone and Sikh Helpline will discuss their perspective on mental health in a question and answer session from 7-8pm
  • A table discussion on key mental health, such as types and causes of mental health problems in Sikh communities and how to make services more accessible in these areas from 8-8:45pm
  • A summary of discussions and next steps from 8:45-9pm
