Recruiting now: Join our Trust

Date:

Our Trust has a wide range of roles and job opportunities on offer and regularly recruits people looking to join a caring and compassionate workforce. As well as a dedicated recruitment website, our teams attend recruitment fairs to spread the word on what it’s like to work at the Trust.

Recruitment marketing advisor Claire shared how she’s involved in this.

Hello, my name is Claire and work as the Trust’s recruitment marketing advisor.

A part of my job that I really enjoy involves getting out and about to talk to people about the different roles we offer within the Trust. During the pandemic, I led on a series of recruitment fairs which reached diverse audiences and were hugely successful.  I’m proud that the Trust was recognised by Eventeer Awards (Vfairs) where we received an award for Best Single Employer Recruitment Career Fair. Following the pandemic, as restrictions lifted, I’ve been able to meet people face to face at external recruitment fairs.

Recently, I went with a team of recruitment and clinical colleagues to the Mercure Hotel in Manchester Piccadilly to take part in an event that was organised by Health Sector Talent (HST).  When we arrived, we were all impressed by the room – the chandeliers were spectacular and the environment was perfect for meeting interested job seekers.

Within the first hour and a half, we had spoken to 750 people. The atmosphere was buzzing due to the numbers of people who visited and their enthusiasm for new work opportunities. The event attracted a diverse range of people, which was really encouraging to see. There was an unprecedented number of visitors – 1200 people attended between 10am and 3pm.

The focus of the event was to recruit nurses and allied health professionals. We also had a huge number of people interested in health care assistant roles with many people seeking sponsorship.

The event visitors emptied our stall of all its merchandise and by midday we didn’t even have a Trust-branded pen to write with!  It was a great experience and one which I’m looking forward to repeating.

Following the event, we have had a steady flow of enquiries to our recruitment email address, with people asking about bank work and submitting their CVs.  It is really encouraging to see people taking the step to apply for work with us. I’m proud to work for an organisation that is committed to living its values. It really is a great place to work.
