The purpose of this policy is to support managers in deploying staff in a way which takes account of the importance of work-life balance without compromising the most effective and efficient way of meeting the needs of service users.
The policy recognises that it is also important that staff rosters are drawn up fairly, transparently and in a timely manner and that they reflect the need to both appropriately plan care and as far as reasonably possible, to support staff to achieve a positive work-life balance.
